Herpes zoster, varicella and herpes – What is the connection?

Herpes zoster, varicella and herpes … Are together? More than you think. Herpes zoster, herpes zoster is also caused by a viral infection of the skin by the varicella-zoster. This is the same herpes virus that causes chickenpox.

The short answer is yes and no …

– Chickenpox is generally a childhood disease that is highly contagious. Herpes (type 1 and 2) was acquired by informal contact and intimate.

– Herpes simplex type 1 major influence on the body above the waist. Infections that occur below the waist, are usually caused by herpes simplex type 2 (genital herpes can also be caused by HSV-1).

– Herpes zoster has been terminated. Ifcontact with someone who has herpes zoster, which contract the disease. Instead, he contracted chickenpox, if they have acquired the disease during childhood.
